Homemade Hummus Recipe

Once you make and try this dip, the store bought versions will never be as satisfying.
1 pint jar of home canned chick peas, drained
Two large cloves of homegrown garlic
3 tablespoons sesame seed paste (tahini)
1/4 cup fresh squeezed lemon juice
1/4 tsp turmeric
1/4 tsp ground cumin
Salt to taste
Mash or purée chick peas and chopped garlic until smooth.
Stir in sesame seed paste and lemon juice.
Stir in seasonings.
Chill for a bit to blend flavors.
Enjoy with vegetables, fruit slices, chips and/or pita bread. Also makes a great sandwich spread.
